Position Overview: AFRL/RY Support

** Must have an Active Secret Clearance **

We are seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst (Journeyman - Mid Level) to support the HQ Air Force Research Laboratory RY Directorate

Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit knowledge and experience in the planning, sustainment, build out and operations of laboratories supporting the advancement and development of sensor devices and components.
  • Exhibit knowledge and experience with United States (US) and foreign weapon systems.
  • Decompose customer questions and information into quantifiable objectives, measures of performance, and effectiveness.
  • Apply the decomposition into modeling and system engineering products.
  • Develop study plans and other relevant products to analyze and update the lab resource baseline, to economize the purchasing of supplies, materials, and contractor support; to prioritize and recapitalize equipment; and to develop facility modification proposals.
  • Develop and implement a laboratory management information system to optimize the throughput of laboratories to include facility infrastructure requirements and adjacency; to analyze current methods of equipment management, and to develop plans to improve collection, analysis, and documentation of lab data.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and mathematics to identify and solve problems through investigations of complex challenges and obstacles.
  • Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.
  • Develop scientific or mathematical models.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.
  • Develop business methods and procedures, including accounting systems, file systems, office systems, logistics systems, and production schedules.
  • Apply information technology to solve business or other applied problems.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues.
  • Develop and apply time and cost networks to plan, control, and review large projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, study plans, and other relevant analytic products needed to complete an analytic effort.
  • Manage budgets for appropriate resource allocation.
  • Define data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests.
  • Evaluate data quality.
  • Apply mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems in scientific or applied fields.
  • Determine appropriate methods for data analysis.
  • Study and analyze information about alternative courses of action to determine which plan will offer the best outcomes.
  • Analyze project data to determine specifications or requirements.
  • Prepare management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions.
  • Document operational activities.
  • Decompose customer questions into analytic objectives, measures of performance, and effectiveness, and apply the decomposition into modeling and simulation environments.
  • Analyze results of mission simulations to determine impact of key variables.
  • Collaborate with other team members and recommend solutions by studying analytical and information needs.

Qualifications:

** Must have an active SECRET security clearance **

  • BA/BS and 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three (3) of which must be in the DoD, OR
  • 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, five (5) of which must be in the DoD.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
