Duties:

Includes but is not limited to:

  • Sales
    • Confirms accuracy of SalesTracer.
    • Engage with PM and Service Project Sales
  • Communication
    • Responds to emails and phone calls from Internal and external customers in a timely manner.
    • Communicates with customers on billing issues, writes formal correspondence.
    • Cooperates and communicates with other teammates and departments on a daily basis.
  • Operations
    • Exceeds Service Department planned actual gross profit and meets or reduces Call Center allocated budget.
    • Develops, evaluates, adjusts annual burden and Call Center operating plans on an ongoing basis.
    • Participates in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the service life cycle. Has a deep understanding of our systems, scheduling, and planning. Participates in creating Operational Systems.
    • Engages with Sales Team and with customer at startup of new PM Agreement. Understands special requirements of agreements: safety, parking, access, hours, notice, etc.
    • Supervises set up of new PM and Service Project Agreements– tasking and scheduling, Service Project contracts – tasking and scheduling.
    • Directs Coordinators billings forward.
    • Oversees manpower scheduling, procurement of materials.
    • Oversees Service Department functions pertaining to warehouse, vehicles, answering service, GPS, shop inventory, uniforms.
    • Reviews invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable. work orders for accuracy.
    • Evaluates deep dive reports.
  • Managerial Teamwork
    • Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors an effective Service Department.
    • Leads team in evaluating and improving operations and call center processes, resolves conflict, promotes teamwork.
    • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships by providing timely, accurate, and complete information.
    • Coordinates with appropriate P1 Group departments for timely delivery of material and manpower resources.
    • Provides timely, accurate, and complete information to the company’s senior leaders.
  • Leadership
    • Looks for opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
    • Engages with Service Leadership.
    • Lives the P1 Group operating principles and leads in accordance with the company’s leadership model.
    • Defines training requirements and coordinates for training interventions that promotes the professional growth of all assigned associates.
    • Personnel: Leads, develops, inspires, challenges, coaches, mentors, and promotes professional growth by providing clear expectations; timely, meaningful feedback (to include periodic formal performance appraisals); and, as appropriate, recognition, redirection, or positive discipline.


Position Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the mechanical service industry.
    • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience directly supervising personnel. This includes direct responsibility for leading and developing personnel, creating a culture of teamwork, employment decisions, performance evaluations, performance improvement meetings.
  • Education:
    • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
    • One of the following education paths is also required:
      • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a construction or engineering related discipline,
      • Ten years of related HVAC/plumbing trade experience and/or HVAC/plumbing training,
      • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge:
    • P1’s scheduling, planning, operating systems and procedures.
    • Strong mechanical service trade technical competency/acumen.
    • Proficient in using email, database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications (specifically Microsoft Office products)
  • Demonstrates good communication skills including written, verbal, non-verbal, public speaking, active listener.
  • Demonstrates initiative and pursues independent professional learning/development.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Demonstrates management skills including but not limited to:
    • Creates a culture of teamwork.

    • Convert labor and materials into services as efficiently as possible to maximize profits.
  • Able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Able to meet P1 Service qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the candidate and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
