Your Role
You will manage Dispatch Team to ensure the maintenance and consistency of dispatch operations and provide support in the form of trainings, guidance, and development/implement best practices within their team. You will also oversee the assessment and review of employee performance, and work with their managers when discussing the disciplining of all employees in the team. These tasks should make up the majority of the work for this position with exceptions made for extenuating circumstances to support the team. You will be reporting to the Drayage manager.Your Responsibilities
- You will monitor the following reports are completed promptly (daily) by the respective operations team member(s): Daily status reports, Per diem & chassis audit report, 310, Match report, Missing containers, FSL Management and other ad hoc reporting.
- Train team members on dispatch operations, which includes: Systems , Account operations / expectations, Motor carrier management, Accounting, Geographical knowledge and Terminal operations.
- You will ensure motor carrier tariffs are received and confirmed for annual validity, in collaboration with the admin team.
- You will respond to daily match report to identify current match opportunities, and match patterns for future opportunities.
- You will handle overall operational responsibility within the region, which includes the following port/rail terminal areas.
- You will vet capacity and send additional / new motor carrier partners for onboarding with the admin team.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Intermediate Excel skills such as formulas and graphs.
- 3years of experience in same role
- Supply chain certificate or degree
- Lean Six Sigma belt or equivalent
