Trinity Eye Associates is searching for an energetic, patient focused, team oriented Optometric Technician/Assistant for our multispecialty practice in Oviedo, Florida. As an Ophthalmic Technician you will be responsible for daily patient care, the ease and successful flow of the clinic and assisting our Doctors.

Responsibilities Communication and Patient Care:

• Uses autorefractor and lensometers (automatic and manual)
• Performs visual field tests
• Performs OCT
• Performs Fundus Photo
• Monitors patient flow, ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full after testing

Administrative:

• Ensures that exam rooms are tidied between patients, including cleaning sinks and sanitizing equipment
• Cleans all lenses used by doctors
• Billing and Coding is billed and ordered (crossed trained over time)

Essential Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology
• Knowledge of EHR
• Knowledge of Diagnostic Equipment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive team member
• Strong organization with attention to detail
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Ability to check visual acuity, applanation, history taking, pupil assessment, EOM's and confrontation field of vision

Qualifications

• At least one year experience as an Ophthalmic Technician
• Being bilingual Spanish/English is preferred
• General knowledge of insurances
• Must be able to organize and multitask
• Must be proficient with the following skills:
• History taking
• Visual Acuities
• IOP (via applanation tonometry and tonopen)
• Auto Refraction
• Manual Refraction ( minus cyl).
• Lensometry
• Topography

• General Knowledge of Ophthalmic Surgical Procedures (Cataract Surgery, LASIK, CXL, SLT, Yag Capsulotomy, iStent, Trabeculectomy, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
