As your local Willow Grove optometrists, our Eye Doctors can help diagnose, treat, and detect subtle changes in your eyes year over year. Our doctors are here to provide the professional eye care, to guarantee you have the clearest vision and take care of your overall eye health.

If you enjoy meeting new people every day and have an interest in eye care, you might make a good optometric technician at Bistline Vision Care! These assistants help optometrists assess the state of a patient’s vision and perform other actions related to office operations and customer service and selling contact lens supply. Hours are part time and will vary by when the facility is open and can/will include weekend shifts!

Perform Tests

Eye exams usually involve some basic pretests that do not need to be performed by the optometrist. For instance, optometric technicians may screen for color blindness, test peripheral vision, and record intraocular pressure (IOP).

Prepare Rooms

Prior to the doctor calling in his or her next patient, the optometric technician gets the examination area ready. Actions may include repositioning and calibrating machines, disinfecting equipment, and putting charts or results of eye tests for the doctor to begin the patient's eye exam.

Administrative Tasks

Operations necessary to office flow may be assigned to optometric technicians. Responsibilities may include greeting visitors, answering phones, scheduling appointments, sorting mail, filing, inputting data into files, collecting payment, coding insurance claims, monitoring inventory, and maintaining the neatness of the waiting room.

Instruct

When someone gets contact lenses for the first time, the optometric technician may teach the patient how to put them in and take them out, as well as how to clean and store the lenses.

Selling contact lenses

When someone is done with their contact lens exam, they might buy a supply of their brand; this is where we priced out their contact lens brand and determining insurance eligibility and explaining to the patient their insurance benefits and billing!

Serve Patients

Optometric technicians want patients to feel comfortable and have a positive impression of the facility. To this end, they do whatever they can to increase satisfaction.

*Experience in these areas is beneficial but not required! All staff will be trained accordingly!!

Maximum pay will be given for full a experienced optometric technician

Weekends(Friday and Saturday and Sundays) are required.

Travel to other office location to Plymouth Meeting is required as it is two offices.

MIN AGE REQUIREMENT IS 18. HS Diploma required.
