Job description
Full Time, weekdays. 40 hours/week.
Pay Range is between $17.00 - $23.58/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
Participates in the pre-operative, intraoperative and post-operative care of the patient under the direction of the RN. This includes patient and patient related transportation, direct patient care, supply distribution and cleaning. Assists the anesthesiologist and RN in preparation for and delivery of quality care to surgical patients. This position requires demonstrated competency to care for patients [AGE SPECIFIC: INFANT THROUGH GERIATRIC] as defined by scope of service and in specific department competency assessments.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education or Formal Training
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)
BLS certification required by end of 90 day conditional period
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Demonstrated physical and mental abilities to apply procedures and standards of clinical practice.
Experience
Minimum of one year as a nursing assistant or central service technician preferred in a hospital setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expedient turn overs of operating rooms between surgery cases.
- Maintain clean, safe environment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of surgical asepsis in the handling of supplies and equipment.
- Provides for patient comfort and safety while transferring.
- Assists the RN in positioning of the patient when requested.
- Acts as a team player while carrying out duties assigned.
- Complies with all hospital, division and department policies and procedures.
- Attends huddle and in-service programs to increase knowledge base.
- Projects a positive image of the hospital within the community.
- Promotes cost containment when maintaining supplies and equipment.
