POSITION TITLE: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant REPORTS TO: Practice ManagerWORK SCHEDULE: M-T-TH 8:00 am – 4:00 pm; F 8:00 am – 12:00 pmJOB CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Non-exempt Seeking a highly reliable, conscientious, friendly team player for a full-time (28 hours per week) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant position in our Williamsville office. Prior dental experience preferred. We offer a competitive compensation and benefit package. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:· Prepare Patients for diagnosis and treatment, ensuring their comfort.· Document patient medical and dental history and any treatment notes in patient’s clinical chart.· Take all x-rays as needed, including iCAT scan x-rays.· Assure treatment room is prepared for all surgical procedures to include extractions, implants, and biopsies.· Assist doctor during diagnosis and treatment of patient, to include accurate input of treatment plans into patient’s clinical record.· Perform post-operative patient care. · Perform instrument sterilization and surgical tray set-up following OSHA and Infection Control guidelines.· Clean and stock operatories.· Copy x-rays as needed (including iCAT scan x-rays).· Maintain current BLS certification.· Continue education in the dental field.· Communicate effectively with co-workers and patients.· Assist with front office tasks as needed.
