DMDC is looking for instructors to run our outdoor activities for Summer 2023. Instructors will engage with campers through specific recreational outdoors activities, thereby allowing them to learn new skills in a positive environment all while having FUN! Below are some of the specific areas we are looking to place our Outdoor Adventure Instructors:

· Wilderness/Outdoor Skills Instructor to teach campers hiking and camping skills that help them become self-reliant in the backcountry.

· Outdoor Adventure Instructors to teach climbing on our newly renovated ropes course as well as lead campers in cooperative games/ team-building activities.

· Lakefront Staff to teachboating, fishing and oversee our lakefront activities. We will train qualified candidates in Pool/ Waterfront Lifeguarding.

· A Naturalist to lead hands-on, immersive nature exploration and ecology-oriented activities leveraging our mountainside setting, lake and stream.

Camp Dates:

• 2023 Camp Dates: Monday, June 26th to Friday, August 18th
• Monday - Friday Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Available for all pre-season staff trainings (selected days in June 2023)
• Available one Saturday in August 2023 for a family event at camp
• Daily Breakfast and Lunch provided

Deer Mountain Day is located in Pomona, NY at the base of the Ramapo Mountains. We are a town away from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale and Suffern and 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We serve campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 who come from Rockland, Bergen, Orange and Westchester Counties and New York City.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $425.00 - $525.00 per week
