Packaging Team Leader

The Packaging Team Leader is working closely with the brewing/processing Team Leaders and Unit Manager to achieve brewery/distillery targets and objectives. A combination of people skills, technical knowledge, attention to detail and strategic leadership skills are required to be successful in this position.

Packaging Team Leader Responsibilities

• Meet packaging targets and objectives
  The Packaging Team Leader is directly accountable for meeting the packaging volume and cost objectives through achieving of line efficiency, yields, labor cost and quality targets.
• Lead and motivate the packaging team
  The Packaging Team Leader will effectively lead and support the packaging team members.
• Continuous improvement
  The Packaging Team Leader must continuously search for packaging performance improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff
  The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and safe work practices for packaging team members.
• Updating EIMS system
  The packaging Team Leader must timeously and accurately enter all packaging material and product movements in the electronic inventory management system.
• Maintain QA and GMP standards
  The Packaging team leader will ensure that GMP and QC processes and standards are maintained throughout the packaging process.
• Maintain the packaging production line
  Monitor equipment performance and co-ordinate maintenance and repair of packaging equipment. Ensure equipment is operated within required parameters and maintain optimum equipment set-up.

Education

• The packaging team leader must have a minimum of a GED.
• A trade qualification or similar experience is preferred.

Work Experience

• A minimum of 2-years’ experience working in beverage packing operations
• Experience leading a team
• Experience with maintaining and managing packaging equipment
