Responsibilities: Oversees and manages all aspects of the Powder Coating Department that include but are not limited to:
- Ensure a safe working environment while abiding by and enforcing Safety Policies.
- Ensure weekly maintenance is completed and documented as required.
- Interpret pertinent data from Blueprints, Travelers, and other information and apply it to the required job.
- Manage and coordinate workload with a high level of throughput while maintaining a defect-free output.
- Configure and set up jobs as required.
- Manage the 5-stage wash system and verify that all documentation is being completed daily.
- Manage inventories of liquid chemicals and powder paints as well as supplies.
- Visually inspect all parts before and after paint for excessive paint buildup, trash in paint, and other defects and ensure the painters know how to make the necessary adjustments.
- Monitor workflow & production schedule to anticipate needs and minimize setup time.
- Oversee quality requirements.
- Support manufacturing, engineering, and company projects as needed.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and bring assignments to successful completion.
- Identify and report documentation errors and other problems in a timely manner.
- Ensure sampling processes and other quality checks are completed and recorded.
- Ensure the appropriate documentation is completed as required.
- Identify defective equipment and/or tooling and report it to the Paint Supervisor or Fabrication Manager.
- Communicate and work effectively with management and other departments.
- Participate in or LEAD company projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate and communicate issues and solutions with suppliers and customers as needed.
- Mentor & train team members in the effective implementation of continuous improvement processes.
- Carry out other duties as and when required.
