Responsibilities
Prepare all applications and disclosure submissions for added US-based company location operating licenses for gaming, liquor, business, health, and others as required by the federal, state, or local governments.- Ensures license renewals and applications are filed appropriately and promptly.
- Implement compliance with federal, state, and local licensing laws and regulations as described by the company licensing framework and direction from supervisors or consulting attorneys.
- Track and understand licensing requirements across the company to accurately interpret and give the information requested by regulatory agencies.
- Budget and manage legal spending on outside counsel within the area of responsibility.
- Take on special projects as assigned, including aiding in-house legal counsel as needed.
- Work effectively under broad supervision from an Attorney or Deputy General Counsel.
- Develop weekly status and exception reports for management showing insight into daily operations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's and two years of law firm or regulatory licensing and compliance experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of business transactional legal concepts and business organizational issues.
- Strong knowledge of company-specific business organization structure.
- The ability to identify and predict issues relevant to regulatory licensing transactions and handle directly with business representatives, outside counsel, and regulatory agency personnel.
- Ability to perform factual and legal research and analysis within contractual documentation on an as-needed basis.
- Possess skills necessary to respond to time-critical, sensitive, unique, and complex business organization transactions.
- Ability to multitask a high volume of work, often with tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
