JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall cleanliness of parks for the City of Richmond, Missouri including Legion Field, Skate Park, West Park, Southview Park, Maurice Roberts Park. Assist the Park Superintendent with the day-to-day operations of the parks and perform other duties as assigned by the Park Maintenance Foreman.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Shelter house operation and upkeep. Sports fields maintenance and upkeep. Swimming pool repair and upkeep. Restroom and concession area upkeep. Playground equipment construction and upkeep. Plant and trim trees and other shrubs within the parks. Assist with gym maintenance, cleaning, operations.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of training or experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge: High school education and general maintenance abilities. Must possess and maintain valid Missouri driver’s license.

Experience: Previous experience in lawn care, landscaping, sanitation and electrical preferred.

Skills: General knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical and other hand-held equipment, as well as ability to operate chain saw, gator, mowers, weed eaters, etc.

Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively and to interface with the public, staff members, various groups and organizations as needed. Must be able to listen to normal conversation, walk and use hands and fingers to operate, handle or feel objects, tools, etc. Must also be able to have vision sufficient to see up close and can adjust focus; and must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and transport it 100 feet. Will be required to withstand outdoor temperatures both summer and winter and during snow and rain. Able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Occasionally will be required to oversee individuals doing community service.
