Part Time Accessibility Generalist will work with both incoming and returning students with disabilities to determine reasonable accommodations, assist in the transition to college, and assist in supporting the students throughout the accommodation process. PT Accessibility Generalists are also responsible for administering exams for students who receive academic accommodations through Pace University’s Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office on the NYC campus. In their proctoring responsibilities, they must uphold the academic integrity of the exams as well as administer all accommodations, which can include reading, scribing, or assistive technologies. This position reports to the the Assistant Director of the Student Accessibility Services and the Coordinator of Student Accessibility Services.

Position Duties
  • Reviewing of disability documentation and assessing the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Consulting with the University community on working with students with disabilities in relation to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Outreach and promotion of disability awareness to the University community. These services are vital to the University’s goals of increasing student retention and graduation rates.
  • Work closely with students with disabilities in determining reasonable accommodations.
  • Work with faculty and staff as needed and appropriate in the provision of the student accommodations.
  • Responsible for administering exams for students who receive academic accommodations through Pace University’s SAS office, NYC.
  • Responsible for maintaining the academic integrity of the exams as well as affording all accommodations, which can include reading, scribing, or assistive technologies.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation Science, Education, Counseling, Psychology or other related field.
  • Experience working a post-secondary education or mental health setting.
  • Familiarity with neuro and educational psychological assessment, specifically around issues of the assessment of disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the process of determining reasonable accommodations.
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act & Rehabilitation Act.
  • Experience with working with college-aged students with disabilities strongly preferred.

Work Hours
The position is part time, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, seeking approximately 20-25 hours per week. Hours will be agreed upon together with the Coordinator and the Assistant Director of the Student Accessibility Services.

Salary Range
$20-$25/hour
