JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE SALES ASSISTANT

LOCATION

REPORTS TO SUPERVISORS

Main Responsibility

To provide at all times excellent service and technical knowledge to all customers, and potential customers of Timberland/VANS

To work as a team with the Store Management and other associates to ensure that the store meets and exceeds all targets, and to adhere to all operational policies and procedures of both Mizen Clothing Retail Ltd and Timberland/VANS.

Approach all customers and ask open questions to establish their requirements and preferences.

Cash Handling and Till Operation

To effectively operate the till according to the company’s established policies and procedures.

Maintain high standards of accuracy ensuring correct procedures are followed at all times.

Ensure cash, cheques and cards are checked for fraud and forgeries.

Accuracy of the tills.

Quick, efficient and accurate processing of sales.

Knowledge of the company policy and procedure on refunds, exchanges and methods of payment.

House Keeping

-Sales Floor

-Stock Room & Staff area

Maintain a clean and tidy store, and ensure all merchandising fixtures/fittings and the floor is clean and tidy.

Ensure stock is replenished, well presented and merchandised to company guidelines to the highest standard.

Maintain store signage and pricing, making sure all is in accordance with company policy and are correct.

Ensure a neat and tidy stockroom and staff room at all times.

Assist in checking in, sorting and putting away deliveries correctly and ensure all pricing is accurate.

Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.

Regular floor walks and uses initiative to correct untidiness.

Store/departments merchandised with flair and of a commercial standard.

Fresh new innovative displays.

Complete duties quickly, efficiently and to a very high standard.

Know company procedures on deliveries and action any delivery discrepancy.

Security

Be aware at all times of security in the store.

Be vigilant without appearing suspicious of customers.

Alert duty manager and all present team as confidently as applicable if witness to, or suspicious of theft by a customer or an employee.

Tagging of stock where available.

Shop lifter awareness.

Adherence to security procedures.

Other

Any other duties as requested by store management or directors.

Carry out duties quickly and efficiently and in a cheerful and enthusiastic manner.
