Part Time / Substitute PUBLIC HEALTH SCHOOL NURSE

The City of Peabody Department of Health and Human Services is seeking part time Registered Nurses to work in Peabody public schools on a substitute basis when the regularly scheduled nurse is not available.

The general duties are to administer prescription and non-prescription medications according to school policy and in compliance with 105 CMR 210; provide first aid; chart all immunizations, physicals, vision and hearing results, postural screenings and heights and weights; maintain logs and document the activities of the school health clinic; and perform other related nursing duties in the school setting. In addition, the nurse may participate in immunization clinics, investigate and report communicable diseases per state regulations, conduct vision and hearing tests of students, attend meetings, and perform other public health related duties. Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must possess a valid Registered Nurse (R.N.) license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and have a current certification in CPR and First Aid. A BSN from an accredited School of Nursing and School Nurse Certification are preferred. Pay rate: $25-$35 per hour. No benefits.
