Eagle Brook Church is a multi-site church looking for a highly relational Pastor of Groups. This person will lead the value of connecting in community for the campus. This person will inspire attenders to connect with one another, form and lead small groups. This person is passionate about seeing people grow in their faith in the context of small groups. They are skilled at recruiting and developing leaders, connecting people to community, and working with cross-functional teams. Someone who aligns with Eagle Brook’s Vision Culture and is passionate about reaching people for Christ will thrive in this role.
POSITION SUMMARY
Champions Eagle Brook’s value of Connecting in Community by casting and implementing vision for groups at a campus by focusing on two primary wins: creating engaging experiences and building transformational relationships. Provides ways for people to get connected to one another in groups. Invites people to serve others by leading groups. Equips and develops volunteer group leaders. Collaborates with the central Groups team and peers at other campuses. Reports to the Campus Pastor.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connects people to groups and develops volunteer group leaders
- Implements and facilitates strategies to connect attenders to groups
- Leverages personal conversation, smaller group opportunities, and larger group experiences for directing people toward community
- Casts vision and creates development plan to multiply leaders from within existing groups
- Recruits, equips, and develops volunteer Groups leaders
- Meets with leaders 1:1 and in groups for spiritual and leadership development
- Leads and equips volunteer Group Director team to support the value of Connecting in Community
- Collaborates with central Groups team to identify strategies for the value of Connecting in Community
- Works cross-functionally with a wide variety of central and campus teams
- Pastoral oversight of care ministries as assigned (i.e., Quest 180, DivorceCare, GriefShare)
- Performs pastoral duties including visits, baptisms, weddings, funerals, and pastor on duty
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4+ years)
- Bachelor’s degree, seminary training, or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 8+ years) preferred
- 2+ years’ experience building, leading, and developing effective volunteer and leader teams
- Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
- Desire to develop others
- Self-starter
- Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution
- Ability to operate effectively in fast paced, team and cross-function environments
- Strong communication skills written, verbal and interpersonal
- Must meet Biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership
- Strong evidence of a Christ-centered life
WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, Saturday - Wednesday. Hours include weekend services plus some evening hours for meetings, training, or events. Need to be able to meet when volunteers are available or pastoral care is needed.
