Main Duties.

• Working with the Head Chef to create new pastry dishes
• Be familiar with the menu and be prepared and up-to-date with the daily business operations
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to exceptional standards
• Avoid unnecessary wastage and follow portion planning and control and to act in a cost effective, responsible manner
• Support the kitchen team in ensuring excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.
• Follow and adhere to HACCP compliance within the kitchen
• Support team members to ensure the kitchen always exceeds guest expectations by consistently producing quality food.
• Assist with the development and training of Junior colleagues within the Pastry Team.
• Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, breads etc.
• Involving yourself with the Head Chef during creation of new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
• Monitoring of baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc.
• Checking quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
• Maintaining a lean and orderly cooking station and adhering to health and safety standards.
• Ensuring that your section is kept clean and tidy at all times. Ensuring that your area is sanitised regularly.
• Ensuring that all food produced is labelled accurately and stored in fridges in the correct manner.
