Summary

Supervise and coordinate the production of custom desserts, confections, ice cream, and pastries.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $50,273 - $65,355. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Functions

• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
• Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
• Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

• 3 years of pastry experience working in a high volume kitchen
• High school degree or GED equivalent
• Must have great attention to detail and creativity
• In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques

Work Environment and physical demands
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
