Patient Accounts Representative, Johnson City

United Health Services is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to join our Twin Tier Home Care Division Johnson City, NY at 601 Riverside Drive. The office is open from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE/ Full Time position.

Shift: Days

Hours per week: 40

Salary range: $16.35- $22.13/hour, depending on experience

Overview

Responsible for timely and accurate processing of and effective follow-up on all services, equipment and supplies. In this position, the representative should make every effort to assist the patient with questions and/or concerns and streamline the process for the patient, ensuring a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Receives and processes referrals/orders from UHS Hospitals, physician offices, patients, and showroom. Responsible for entering information into the system and printing delivery ticket. Schedules deliveries, as necessary.

Verifies insurance and obtains prior approvals. Maintains and tracks authorizations from insurance companies, as necessary.

Effectively communicates with patients, referral sources and physician offices, billing staff and customer service departments to rectify problems, address questions and concerns. Handles requests for corrections and additional information, as required.

Keeps updated with the most current insurance rules and regulations.

Supports retail sales - works Showroom, when needed.

Makes weekly follow up calls for patients with Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

Position Qualifications

Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in resolving issues as they occur while efficiently managing high work volume in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred:
Experience with durable medical equipment.
