WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Performs delegated patient care activities as directed by the RN or medical staff upon completion of documented training, in a manner that is aligned with age specific needs of the patient to ensure safe, accurate and high-quality treatment of patients.

• Documentation of patient care.

• Participate in organization, cleaning and safety of unit.

• Maintains unit supplies, prepares patient rooms and medical records, enters charges, and answers the multi-line telephone to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the unit.

• Answers questions about treatment plan within the expected scope or refers questions to RN.

• Make rounds and respond promptly to patient requests.

• Assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as directed.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Required; OR Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) required; OR Franciscan Patient Care Assistant Program (FPCAP) required; OR One year of previous healthcare clinical experience required.

• Knowledge of procedures and protocols necessary to provide patient safety.

• Understanding of common medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

• Flexibility in staffing and adaptability to changes in patient care practice.

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills

• Ability to display empathy while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year Healthcare experience as a patient care technician or similar position Required
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - .
