Responsibilities:
The Patient Engagement Manager monitors & provides accountability to the Patient Engagement Specialists and the patients in treatment embarking on their road to recovery. They are the main staff point of contact for all Patient Engagement Specialists and patients, carrying out activities ranging from light fitness classes to daily lectures on topics pertinent to recovery; monitoring patients regularly, resolving conflicts and responding to critical situations and interacting regularly with other clinical staff to aid in the recovery process and practical needs such as daily cleaning of the building. The Patient Engagement Manager:
- Embodies our values and mission statement
- Supervises all Patient Engagement Specialists (PES) and hosts monthly staff meetings for PES
- Tracks the Patient Engagement process and provides feedback and guidance
- Provides daily work schedules for all PES, monitors their productivity and time management, ensures they properly document, and ensures all their positions are covered
- Ensures patient engagement specialists are monitoring meals; leading patients in light daily fitness classes; leading enrichment activities including guided meditation, community building and free time; attending & monitoring enrichment activities with outside vendors; facilitating any non-therapy group as assigned by daily program schedule; monitoring patient movement and maintaining presence in all patient areas; attending & supervising trips to off-campus 12-step recovery meetings as assigned; and performing daily facility cleaning duties as directed by daily cleaning checklists
- Ensures PES are trained in and utilizing one on one patient engagement and retention approaches and are monitoring patients at all times, diffusing conflicts, ensuring patient compliance with treatment protocol, and involving other clinical staff as necessary
- Leads community meetings to discuss various aspects of treatment & to resolve potential conflicts between patients
- Enforces and informs policies and procedures
- Schedules transportation for patients
- Assists in hiring and onboarding by hosting and scheduling interviews for candidate PES and providing training for all newly hired PES
- Works as a highly dependable, independent member of the treatment team
- Performs all other tasks assigned by supervisor
- Works cooperatively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies
- Reports directly to the Executive Director
Qualifications:
- HS, GED or more or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience working with Substance Abuse populations strongly preferred
- Crisis Intervention Training strongly preferred
- Personal interest or experience in fitness preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Clean driving record for at least 3 years
- Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
- Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly preferred
- Authorization to work in the US is required
