Mayvin is currently seeking experienced and motivated applicants for a Payroll Administrator position that will collect payroll data and administer the processing of Mayvins twice-monthly payroll. The Payroll Administrator will provide support to the Corporate Office in Alexandria, VA. The candidate selected must be detail-oriented, self-directed, results-oriented, and customer-focused; one who displays ethics, integrity, and leadership qualities.
This is a hybrid position located at our corporate headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
Must be a US citizen to apply.
Will be required to submit to a background investigation and be eligible for a DOD Secret clearance to maintain employment.
Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Administers processing of Mayvins payroll utilizing a third-party payroll service (Paycom)
- Collects and maintains accurate payroll records
- Audits payroll information for accuracy
- Performs actions necessary to track and determine regular, overtime, and other special pay types
- Handle processing of employee status changes, analyzes payroll expenses, assures related general ledger accounts are reconciled
- Setup and maintain tax accounts for states and localities
- Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, garnishments, etc.
- Manage tax inquiries with the payroll provider. Follow up as needed to ensure all notifications are properly addressed
- Create semi-monthly payroll journal entries
- Generate accrual entries as required
- Stays abreast of federal and state payroll laws and changes
Timesheets
- Final review of all semi-monthly timesheets for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Mayvins established timekeeping policies prior to payroll processing
- Answer employees' timekeeping inquiries
- Conduct periodic floor checks for timekeeping compliance
- Set up employees in the accounting system, create timekeeping assignments
- Update pay rates in the payroll and accounting systems
- Maintain leave project assignments in the accounting system
Miscellaneous
- Liaison with Human Resources on hires/terms/payroll benefit deductions
- Liaison with 3rd party payroll provider. Ensure all outstanding items are tracked and closed out
- Responsible for payroll/timesheet records management, ensuring complete documentation and easy access of information
- Other ad hoc responsibilities to support the accounting team
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Business
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) highly preferred
- 5+ years of full cycle payroll experience with companies with 300+ employees, in multiple states across the US
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Superior attention to detail
- Prior government contracting experience
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Ability to maintain relationships with internal employees as well as vendors and customers
- Strong communication skills
- Exhibit a high level of confidentiality
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Paycom experience highly preferred
