PAYROLL CLERK
Reporting Department: Finance & Accounting | Reports To: Director of Finance
Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: Full-Time
Summary:
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the production of an accurate and timely payroll in accordance with all applicable regulations, reconciling source documents to transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing analytical support.
Tasks:
- Processes bi-weekly payroll, including tips, tokes, and commissions.
- Reviews timecards, as necessary, for any errors, including missing punches, time discrepancies, etc.
- Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validates confirmed reports.
- Prepares year end W2’s.
- Prepare manual checks for F&A to print, as requested by Human Resources or F&A.
- Works with the HRIS Support team to research/solve payroll transaction/system issues, conduct payroll testing and ad-hoc projects.
- Manages the preparation and maintenance of disbursements (garnishments), reports and statistics for government agencies and others to ensure accuracy of reporting.
- Saves electronically external payroll reports.
- Audits the Tax Returns for payroll and manage tax reports to Federal, State, and local agencies when required.
- Develops ad hoc payroll and accounting reporting.
- Conducts monthly and quarterly account reconciliations between payroll and general ledger to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Two (2) years of payroll experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Large platform payroll application experience (PAYCOM, ADP, UKG etc.)
- Experience with payroll for tipped positions.
- Experience conducting payroll under a Sovereign entity.
- Knowledgeable of payroll, accounting, general ledgers, account reconciliations, closings and audit.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Office).
- Ability to exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as required.
- Ability to think analytically, and solve problems.
- Excellent communication, administrative and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws.
