What you will be doing

In this hand-on opportunity, you will be fully engaged in providing IT Technical Support to our Albertsons retail stores in and around Idaho Billings, MT, and the surrounding area. You’ll have an opportunity to conduct phone support as well as onsite support for component level repair on a variety of IT assets i.e., POS terminals, Laptops, Desktop PCs, and Printers, for our retail locations. In addition, you’ll be given the opportunity to demonstrate your troubleshooting expertise and finding resolutions to ongoing technology challenges.

In this role you will learn new technologies, learn all facets of retail store support, and network with fellow Technicians as well as working independently to support our customers.

The position will be supporting stores in and around Billings, MT, and the surrounding area.

Main responsibilities

  • Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout our retail locations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all technology hardware including PC’s, servers, hardware, scales, Point of Sale Systems, Network hardware, RF hardware, and printers.
  • Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications.
  • Installation of new hardware and software.
  • Meet goals for repair standards, for service level agreements, and other measurable metrics.
  • Provide remote support for hardware and software.
  • Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.
  • Interface with all Corporate IT groups for on-site support and technology resolutions.
  • Driving required for this Zone Service Area.

We are searching for someone with

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical information.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models and Windows, MS Office and related applications.
  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions, defines problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently and be a strong collaborative partner in a matrixed organization.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment, some twisting and turning with equipment installs.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, day, evening and overnight in a 24/7 on call support capacity. There may be overnight travel required as well.
  • Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability and follow through.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred or 3+ year's technical/training/hardware certifications preferred.
  • Information Technology project implementation exposure with 5+ year's technical systems and 2+ years of technical support experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds of equipment, some twisting and turning with equipment installs.
  • Must have a good, safe driving record.

Physical Environment:

  • Work may be performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • May spend long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during a normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
  • Workday is fast paced; some evening and weekend work may be required.
