PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The People Team Leader (PTL) Weekends is responsible for managing and providing leadership to a Shift team of Process Operators, Compliance Leads, Lead Operators, Trainers, with dotted line management of Maintenance Team Leads, Maintenance Technicians, Warehouse B2, and QC Analysts in the Cork Site to deliver the customer and business needs in a compliant manner that enhances the direct relationship culture.

The PTL will lead by facilitating, coaching, mentoring and developing all members of the team. The PTL will be a driving force for the shift by creating an environment of continuous improvement using Lean principles and resources as well as Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and EHS Standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


EHS: Responsibility for emergency procedures, safety systems, safety performance, communication and behaviours on the shift.
Ensure all safety and compliance activities are addressed on shift.
Ensuring that plant and equipment is operating in a compliant manner and that all activities are conducted to meet GMP regulations, site and corporate quality standards and any additional regulatory requirements as required
Ensure 7S standards are maintained and improved


Team leadership and capability development

Team Leadership: lead, motivate and manage the Shift team anchored by the GE Beliefs to achieve required targets. Ensure effective delegation of tasks to lead shift effectively.
Performance management of reports: ensure continuous performance feedback is maintained, act as an employee advocate, recognise and reward employees as appropriate, manage shift priorities. Spend daily time on floor with shift ensuring contact time with Shift personnel.
Employee development: provide information on and suggest relevant training for employees
Provide leadership in the running of the platform to meet customer needs:
production platform encompassing batch documentation, batch preparation, filling, autoclave, maintenance, and quality control testing of parenteral products
packaging platform encompassing batch documentation, inspection, warehouse, packaging, and maintenance.
Shift Handover: ensure detailed shift handovers are prepared and completed and that standards are maintained across shift handovers.
Working cross-functionally and cross-shifts to resolve issues and drive improvements.
Uses expertise and networks to implement solutions across the shift.

HR
Manage & Control HR requirements, systems and programmes and approve COREHR
Recruitment: participate in the selection and recruitment of shift team members at the appropriate level
Ensure that all aspects of GEHC Cork Human Resource Management policies are complied with.

Communications: communicate and update the team regularly, surface and address employees issues and concerns in a timely manner.
Be active and constructive in meetings. Establish required meetings to push shift performance.

Continuous improvement
Continue to drive improvement through certified lines and other lean programs.
Suggestions: surface ideas and suggestions from team. Support Suggestions scheme program.
Drive CI within shift: Be proactive in surfacing continuous improvement initiatives. Drive improved yields and efficiency
OEE: track and deliver line performance against target and implement OEE improvement actions

PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Professional degree level qualification required.
Experience of managing teams in a fast paced and complex environment.
Dynamic decision maker, effective planner, and communicator.
Experience in developing a strong working relationship with other shifts, day shift personnel, and other support departments.
