Permanent Substitutes will fill temporary vacancies created when teachers and teaching assistants are absent or on leave from the workplace. Permanent Substitutes are full time employees stationed at a single work location for the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered as a substitute teacher with the IKAN ROE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES

• Report to Principal.

• Follow Board of Education policies and state and federal laws.

• Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school

  environment.

• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and

  maintain a positive learning environment.

• Supervise students both in and out of the classroom.

• Follow the daily schedule (academic and supervisory), class rolls, lesson plans, and other

  information for the day’s activities as provided by the classroom teacher or school

  administration

• Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to create a cohesive and consistent

  learning experience for students. (In case of emergency when plans are not provided, the principal should be made aware of the situation. The substitute will be provided with lesson plans for the day.)

• Record attendance according to school policy.

• Keep track of student progress in order to report back to the regular classroom teacher.

• Refer all matters of student discipline to school administration.

• Provide tutoring/intervention services for students, as needed.

• Attend all in-service and faculty meetings as assigned by the principal/supervisor.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• May be assigned to different building base on daily needs.

• $217.74 daily rate
