Redwood Schools exists so that all students with literacy struggles can access their dreams. By cultivating hope and restoring confidence, we help students dramatically improve their literacy skills regardless of socio-economic background or learning differences. Redwood School offers programming, including Wilson Reading System, Woodin Math, and Writing Revolution, all designed with the unique needs of dyslexic K-8 students.

Redwood School is seeking a part-time Physical Education & Health Teacher for SY 23-24 to join our team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, optimistic, collaborative, organized problem solver who also possesses a strong desire to learn, grow and develop themselves professionally.

1. Hourly Pay: $100/hour

• 4-8 hours/week
• August 2023- June 2024
• No benefits provided

2. Physical Education Instructor Responsibilities

• Organize games and challenges that promote physical activity for Redwood Day students
• Create systems and materials for students to develop motor skills, proper exercise, and eating habits.
• Adapt lessons for students with varying needs and physical abilities
• Supervise and monitor students’ safety at all times
• Develop a positive, orderly learning environment which engages students and maximizes on-task behavior
• Develop positive rapport with students, staff, and families to help ensure a professional learning community.
• Collaborate with teachers to respond to individual student needs.
