Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Physician Assistant in the West Sacramento, California area. The ideal Physician Assistant will provide diagnosis and appropriate treatment plans to patients under the supervision of a physician.

About the Job

Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and other healthcare providers.
• Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate, and monitor patients for adverse effects and drug interactions.
• Provide patient education on disease prevention, health promotion, and lifestyle modification.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and make referrals to specialists as necessary.
• Administer vaccinations and immunizations.
• Manage chronic diseases and conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, and asthma.
• Provide primary care services to patients of all ages, including children, adults, and older adults.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and optimize healthcare delivery.
• Document patient care in electronic medical records and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient histories.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and support staff.
• Comply to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications:

• 1-year experience as a Physician Assistant
• 1-year experience in Primary Care or comparable work experience.
• Active DEA license without restrictions.
• Must be able to provide telehealth and onsite services
• Must have a current California NCCPA license.
• Able to work in Sacramento, CA.
• Experience with EMR and EHR platforms preferred.
