Responsible for the investigation, valuation, establishment of exposures, negotiation and settle met of assigned PIP pre-suit demands. Ensures that all demands are answered promptly, equitably and economically within the provisions of the policy contract, applicable law and in accordance with the damages presented.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of three (3) years of claims adjusting experience including PIP and/or medical claims and demonstrated ability to handle claims of a complicated nature.
- Identify involved parties eligible for coverage
- Establish accurate loss and expense reserve
- Research and review of the PIP Statute and relevant case law to determine what our defenses are and any related statutory provisions
- Complete review of pre-suit demand letters and send proper timely response in compliance with 627.736 (10)
- Thorough review of medical bills and coding
- Reviewing medical reports for proper documentation of an Emergency Medical Condition
- Resolving payment disputes on denied medical services
- Develop and document strategy for dispute resolution
- Prior completion of all required training and demonstrated growing knowledge and proficiency in claim handling.
- Must possess on a timely basis all licenses required by the State(s) assigned.
- Ability to handle claims using the claims on-line system.
This is a remote role that may require occasional reporting to the Tampa office
