Responsibilities:

1. Develop short and long-term strategies for optimization of manufacturing operations in concert with Divisions and Corporate goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Associate Engagement.

2. Establish and monitor annual goals and objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Associate Engagement. Provide ongoing feedback regarding performance against objectives.

3. Support programs aligned with the business unit:

  • Develop and execute a multi-year pipeline of cost and cash improvement. This includes vertical integration opportunities to grow the plant’s volume.

  • Execute new product introductions, product life cycle management and stay-in-business initiatives.

4. Continually access workforce requirements against planned workload and take corrective action to assure optimum balance.

5. Identify production needs and constraints, contribute to up-stream planning and provide objective, timely feedback to functions whose activities can impact production’s ability to operate effectively. Assure mutual support and integrate activities involving other functional areas (AME, R&D, Purchasing, Marketing).

6. Develop Plant and Departmental communication programs for scheduled business updates, concerns and/or recognition for major accomplishments.

7. Assure the selection, development, and retention of high caliber and diverse talent throughout the organization.

8. Provide effective management of Employee Relations. Coach staff and supervisors in the art of training and motivating employees.

9. Implement succession-planning activities for all areas of responsibility.

10. Provide the necessary direction, coaching, training and job experience to direct reports and others in the organization to assure short and long-term organization competence.

11. Responsible for the development and administration of division and plant budgets.

12. Assure compliance of facilities to all appropriate Quality, Safety. Environmental and Financial Regulations.

13. Responsible for inventory objectives and accomplishment of service level goals across all Divisional product lines. Responsible for management of Finished Goods Product planning activities against divisional objectives.

14. Assure effective divisional and facility procurement practices that creates competitive advantages in the area of low cost manufacturing, supplier based cost improvement and opportunities to have immediate access to most current technologies.

15. Through the principles of “Lean Thinking” fosters an environment of continuous improvement in the areas of cost, quality, and service and manufacturing best practices.

16. Ensure work safety, OSHA, EPA and GMP compliance.

17. Responsible for Global Distribution and the timely distribution of product based on customer orders.

18. Other functions and special assignments that may be assigned

Educational Qualifications & Previous Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering; Masters degree preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years leading multi-disciplinary Operations (Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering) of which minimum five (5) years direct experience in medical device manufacturing with hands-on experience in multiple disciplines.

  • Previous experience working within an FDA regulated environment with a general understanding of GMP, ISO, OSHA & EPA requirements.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans with a 3-5 year horizon, through alignment with functional stakeholders from the Business Unit or Business Segment.

  • Strong servant leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to influence and interface effectively with all levels of the organization (Corporate, Division and Site).

  • Excellent verbal and written communications.

  • Strong working knowledge in Procurement, Materials Management and Plant Financials.

  • Ability to effectively manage projects and technical processes.

  • Ability to build diverse, high performing teams, develop a winning and inclusive culture, and provide coaching and mentoring for staff and key personnel.

  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills.

  • Proven track record of implementing change, new product introductions, driving cost improvements and increasing efficiencies.

  • Prior experience in a Six Sigma, Operational Excellence or Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional teams.
