We specialize in supplying the automotive and power sports markets with cutting-edge acoustic and thermal insulation products, using the latest high-tech materials. The Plant Manager position will lead production operations at our North American plant in Eau Claire, WI including manufacturing, scheduling, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and material control. The position is responsible for managing daily operations and planning while providing guidance to department supervisors. The Plant Manager will instill company values (Quality, Responsibility, Innovation, and Expertise) into all employees and guide growth and change in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities Overview
· Set short and long-term objectives for effective production planning to ensure customer orders are timely.
· Implement performance tracking and management systems to monitor operations strengths and weaknesses and allocate resources effectively.
· Establish and monitor plant KPIs to ensure company and customer standards are met.
· Review inventory levels and scheduling with team to set targets and expectations for maximum efficiency and cost reduction.
· Monitor resource utilization to optimize plant performance and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
· Make data driven recommendations for capital expenditures that will improve plant performance.
· Implement and oversee execution of SOP’s related to plant operations.
· Ensure compliance with quality standards as per company policy, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 standards.
· Set and follow plant safety rules, as well as ensure compliance to these rules.
· Ensure plant cleanliness and organization.
· Read and comprehend financial statements for decision making and set budget with leadership team.
· Intentionally work to motivate and develop teams. Develop training for various levels of employees.
· Set clear goals for teams with measurable results that are consistently rewarded.
· Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating employees, rewarding employees, resolving personnel issues, delivering corrective action notices for disciplinary and discharge documentation.
Education and/or Experience
· Ten years related plant management experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
· Experience managing multiple departments and more than 30 employees.
· Must have advanced communication (written and verbal), computer skills, and team building skills.
· Experience implementing new ERP systems and upgrades.
· Strong quality background with setting standards and holding self and employees accountable.
· Experience setting budgets, reading and comprehending financial statements for decision making, and allocating financial resources.
· Experience with change management and help others navigate change in a positive manner.
· Values, and has spent time attending, continuing education opportunities both company initiated and self-driven. Requires attending some conferences to stay updated on latest technologies, management skills, etc.
· Experience implementing and/or creating incentive programs for various departments.
· Training and experience implementing Lean principles are a plus.
