POSITION DESCRIPTION
The main focus of the Smoked Production Plant Manager will be crew scheduling, performance review, hiring, operation of all equipment in plant, CPR and sanitation training. Coordinating between sales processing and shipping. Maintaining and leading operations within the plant. Manages personnel issues as they arise.
Our smoked facility is growing rapidly and needs a team member that can plan for future growth via personnel management and implementation of new equipment and processes. Our Plant manager will need to be energetic, innovative and able to translate this to our current and expanding team members.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Team and Individual leadership skills
- Organization and planning skills
- Ability to work independently, at times with little direction
- Strong and sound decision making skills
- Proficiency with: (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal/written skills
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Must maintain positive company morale
- Participates in company events, as needed
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
- Forklift certification required
- May be required to work at other work sites/locations as needed
- May be required to do other tasks as needed
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- HACCP Certification
- Better Process Control Certification
- PCQI Certification training and certification
- Experience with smoked foods.
- Experience in canning a variety of seafoods.
- Knowledge in food production line equipment and development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground
- The employee may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
- The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and managers
- Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
- Must be able to drive to multiple locations
- Must have the ability to lift as much as 50 lbs.
