Position Summary: The Plant Mechanic is responsible for handling routine maintenance and repairs on plant and/or field facilities and equipment in accordance with the plant maintenance program and associated maintenance and repair procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the plant and field preventative maintenance program by performing routine maintenance duties, including the collection of trending information for management.
- Keep track of spare parts as they are used and complete a usage report in order to replace items as necessary. Assist in physical inventories.
- Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install, align, and take apart industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors and furnaces using hand and power tools.
- Set up and operate machine shop tools in the performance of all machine work to close tolerances.
- Assemble and repair tubing, piping, valves and fittings subjected to both high and low temperature or high and low pressure, or where certified welding is required.
- Assemble, disassemble, repair and adjust all types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Routine maintenance of pumps and electric motors.
- Maintenance on other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, valve actuators, etc.
- Assist with replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed, including initial alignment, testing, and startup.
- Actively participate in safety compliance, training and safety programs,
- Ability to review and follow procedures as necessary to achieve strong performance and ensures compliance of all company and industry standards to meet the requirements of all regulatory agencies.
- Incorporate maintenance management system practices including preventive maintenance, safety checks and break down maintenance on equipment.
- All other duties as assigned
Competencies:
- Capable of basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment.
- Capable of repairing some equipment, such as actuators & level alarms and of changing out fuses, relays, etc.
- Computer knowledge - Proficient utilizing MS Windows environment, LOWIS, MAXIMO
- Strong initiative and self-starter
- Ability to keep neat and accurate records
- Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritization
- Excellent Interpersonal Communications skills in a team environment
- Ability to implement cost effective solutions
- Technical Skills related to math and analytical thinking
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety to include personal safety, co-workers, contractors and the public.
Requirements:
- 3+ years Oil & Gas Industry, Midstream; CO2, Natural Gas and Gas Plant Mechanical Operations experience
- Working knowledge of the mechanics of the plant
- Plant mechanic works 7 & 7 home every night schedule. Needs to be H2S trained , fit tested and clean shaven. Candidate needs to live within 1 hour driving distance to Coden Alabama
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision
- Candidate living within Greeley, Platteville and Boulder, CO areas required
- High School diploma or GED equivalent. Some college or technical training preferred
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License with an excellent driving record
