An established food production facility located in Westchester County, NY seeks a Kitchen Prep Cook Team to handle our PM production. The ideal candidates must be responsible team players with an attention to detail. Prior experience in high volume production, USDA Facilities, catering or Hotels is highly desirable.

You will report to the Director of Operations and the Culinary Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

Thawing, cooking, cooling and storing of all meats and vegetables.

Keeping track of all inventory needed for production and adhering to the production numbers. Taking temp logs during protein cooking. Maintaining pull sheets for product inventory as it gets used.

Working efficiently within the time constraints of the shift. This includes managing your time wisely, self-delegating tasks, following up on their completion and ultimately getting the job done.

Staying on top of cleaning tasks and the overall cleanliness of the Kitchen.

Following all Department of Health Requirements, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices therefore keeping the kitchen up to code and accident-free.

Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to each other during the shift.

Making sure that all procedures and food quality are consistent.

Maintaining open communication with upper management regarding any issues that might affect production. (products, employees, equipment, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years experience as a Prep Cook or Supervisor in a High-Volume Kitchen environment.

Proficient knowledge of kitchen equipment use and its upkeep. (ovens, choppers, tilt skillets, mixers, refrigerators, freezers, etc.)

Adherence to proper food handling, cooking, cooling, storing, labeling, etc.

Must be comfortable standing, and moving, for 8-10 hours with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Reliable transportation, punctuality and the ability to adhere to a schedule are essential.

English speaking is a must. Spanish speaking is a plus.

ServSafe Certification and/or NY Food Handlers’ Certification are a plus.

Must have proper documentation to work in the US.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday. 3pm to around 11:30pm.

Positions are available immediately and interviews will commence ASAP.

We are looking for a Supervisor and a subordinate Prep Cook. Pay rates will depend on responsibilities and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
