JOB TITLE:
Part Time Graphic Designer

JOB PURPOSE:
Assist in the design and coordination of the layout of art and copy, as well as produce visual media to be presented across a range of channels, including social media, digital newsletters, websites, and educational publications in both digital and print formats. The products created will play a vital role in expanding the reach of UW Extension across the state and beyond.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and prepare art and copy layout of various marketing, informational and educational publications and outlets utilizing industry standard design software (i.e. Adobe Indesign and other elements of the Creative Cloud). Ensure consistency of design.

Follow UW, UW Extension (UWE), and College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural resources design standards to create uniform publications and products.

Assist in creating social media posts across multiple UWE channels using best practice for each platform.

Assist in creating and maintaining current templates and assets across multiple UWE Canva accounts.

Follow best design practices when creating products across all platforms including alt text, ADA compliance, and copyright compliance.

Use industry standard techniques to produce photographs to support design products.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with shipping print materials.

Update archival materials for ADA compliance.

Assist in maintaining inventory of print publications.

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
2 years work-related experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

None

Demonstrated ability to design clear and understandable print and digital products

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the

University Vehicle Use Policy

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field OR 4 years relevant work-related experience.

Knowledge of Cooperative Extension and Land-Grant Universities.

Photography composition skills and knowledge of best practices.

Graphic design composition skills and knowledge of best practices.
