Thurman Orthodontics is searching for a self-driven and strategic individual to play a key role in the future growth and development of the practice. The Practice Manager manages the entire team including personnel functions, practice development, human resources, operations, sales, and marketing.
The ideal candidate will be high energy with a strong work ethic, service oriented, motivated, a fast moving “get it done” style, with the ability to be a responsible risk taker and demonstrate the following:
- Disciplined manager who understands the effective personnel processes and controls.
- Ability to make thoughtful, but timely decisions to balance the demands of the growth and development of the practice.
- Willing to get “in the trenches” and perform all duties of the business as needed.
- Motivates and inspires the staff with energy and passion.
- Ability to operate at a higher level with ownership, but clearly understands the detail and inner workings of the practice.
- Strives for excellence and does not accept mediocrity.
- Character of unquestioned ethics and always operates with a high level of integrity, transparency, leadership, and empathy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Essential Functions
- Oversee personnel administration, training, communications, and workflow procedures including human resources.
- Direct the activities of the clinical team including operational processes, reporting, and facilities management.
- Supervise and evaluate operations, identifying problems, and recommending/implementing corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain credibility throughout the practice as a capable human resources manager and developer of solutions to staffing challenges.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, objectives and plans, including performance targets, policies and key metrics to achieve the company’s overall goals.
- Ensure appropriate controls and record-keeping procedures are in place to meet all regulations, standards, and requirements.
- Continuously assess staffing and recruitment needs to effectively identify, hire, and onboard practice talent.
- Provide training and development support to ensure all practice staff demonstrate knowledge of our business model, operating procedures and protocols.
- Support daily office operations.
- Respond to clinical and operational concerns; be accessible and responsive.
- Provide leadership alongside Dr. Thurman in driving the practice growth and development moving forward.
- Commitment to ongoing skills development in leadership and human communications.
- Other related functions as requested by Dr. Thurman.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business (not required but a plus)
- Leadership/Management, 2 years required
- Dental or Health Care a plus
