The Learning Tree, Inc. is currently looking for a Preschool Director for our partnership with Huntsville City Schools. Our Little Tree Preschools provide education for children with developmental challenges alongside their typically developing peers in local public-school classrooms. We focus on incorporating the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis into daily classroom instruction to teach kindergarten readiness including communication, self-care, play, social, and pre-academic skills, providing one on one instruction as needed. Little Tree Preschools typically are three classrooms staffed by both public-school and Learning Tree employees. Each class is led by a certified teacher and two aides with a maximum enrollment of 12 children (6 with IEPs and 6 peer models). We also function as a free training site for public school staff from throughout the state and for local graduate and undergraduate students interested in ABA. The Huntsville Preschool Director will function in both an administrative roll and as the BCBA overseeing the ABA programming.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Master's degree in ABA, psychology, education, special education, or related field.
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst and eligible for Licensure as a Behavior Analyst in AL required.
  • Two years of experience with preschool aged children with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of use of applied behavior analysis in an inclusive classroom setting preferred.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with Huntsville City Schools.

Preschool Director job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborative supervision of all operations, both fiscal and educational for the preschool.
  • Supervision of all personnel related issues and oversight of hiring of all prospective Learning Tree employees.
  • Oversight of development of Individualized Education Plans and participation in IEP meetings.
  • Oversight of FBAs and development of individual behavior support plans as needed.
  • Ongoing monitoring of Discrete Trial Training, Natural Environment Training, Staff Engagement, acquisition and reduction data collection, and regular procedural integrity checks.
  • Oversight of development, implementation, and maintenance of class wide and individual reinforcement systems as needed.
  • Communication with parents and agency representatives.
  • Oversight of all staff training.
  • Ongoing coordination and supervision of RBTs, graduate and undergraduate students (e.g., ABA, SpEd, SLP), and volunteers.
  • Oversight of all documentation procedures.
  • Public relations responsibilities: trainings for other school employees; attendance at local informational, children, or health fairs; organization and participation in fund raising events; presentations at parent events and professional conferences.
  • Some travel may be required between schools in the district.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
