Montessori Magpie currently has openings for a full-time preschool teacher working with children ages 15 months up to 36 months old. This is a shared teaching position with small class sizes and a great staff who are motivated and pro-active about teaching in a dynamic and inspiring environment. We are seeking the same in you. Qualifications:

• Experience working with the particular age group for the position to which you are applying is a must.
• An understanding of child development.
• Knowledge or familiarity of current theories and practices in the field of Early Childhood Education.
• Ability and desire to work in an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative environment that combines both Reggio Emilia Inspired and Montessori curricula.
• Enthusiasm for learning on the job and alongside your team of teachers.
• Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, assistants, the Education Coordinator, Director, and other staff members.
• Ability to work cooperatively with and take direction from the Director other administrators.
• Ability and willingness to follow center and DCFS policies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Patience, maturity, and a love of very young children.

Education & Training

• For Lead Teachers: Bachelors degree In Early Childhood Education or Child Development or equivalent is preferred. Equivalent degrees require a minimum of 30 semester credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Development courses.
• At least two years of working in an Early Childhood/Preschool classroom environment is required.
• Infant/Toddler Montessori trained teachers are preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

We strictly follow health department guidelines for both staff and children in our care and provide staff with full PPE (masks, eye protection, etc). All staff is fully vaccinated. Paid sick leave and medical benefits offered to FT employees.
