Bioprocess Engineering Lead – Dunboyne Biologics
This role will be a key part of our Process Engineering and Automation Hub in our new state of the art single use multi-product biotech facility in Dunboyne, County Meath.
The Process Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Process Engineers with key responsibilities for the management of process engineering systems around equipment design, specification and performance, generation of technical reports, process modelling, risk management and integration of process equipment systems.
The key responsibilities in this role include:
Act as a hands-on technical coach and leader in areas relating to process, equipment, and automation- Support the implementation of site strategy and business unit strategy by identifying appropriate initiatives for applicable improvements to the value stream. In some instances, support corporate initiatives and projects as required.
- Lead approved projects and continuous improvement initiatives that are in alignment with the site strategies.
- Use a focused, technical, team based problem solving approach to meet and exceed on functional and site goals and objectives.
- Within the Process Engineering/Automation hub take the lead on the assignment of specific manufacturing projects that arise on the process, equipment or systems providing a structured lean approach to problem resolution
- Be a role model for the Safety culture on site and champion our principles of Diversity and Inclusion.
- Utilize real-time data analytics for making decisions on the value stream improvement initiatives.
- Act as a key SME for the introduction of new process equipment into the facility, and provide technical training or support for the operations based manufacturing personnel as equipment is brought on line
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelors Level 8 degree in technical field (Science or Engineering) or equivalent
- At least 8 years’ experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry desirable, (preferably both) or equivalent, with experience in automated systems.
- Proven background in successfully handling tech transfer and NPI projects for GMP regulated products.
- Experience leading significant process or plant improvement projects
- Proven ability around working cross functionally, delivering technical solutions to manufacturing issues and identifying solutions.
- Experience working in a self-managed team, embracing an interdependent working culture that delivers results.
- Strong operations support background ensuring value added contribution and oversight.
