About Jerritt Canyon

First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining friendly state of Nevada. The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972 and first gold production from the property occurred in 1981.

The Jerritt Canyon Gold District is located in Elko County, northeastern Nevada. The Carlin-type gold mineralization at Jerritt Canyon is hosted by silty carbonate or carbonaceous siliciclastic rocks originally deposited as shelf sedimentary rocks during the Paleozoic Era.

The Opportunity

First Majestic is looking for a Process Manager for our Jerritt Canyon Mine, located north of Elko, Nevada. The Process Manager will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the Process Plant and infrastructure, including strategic planning, metallurgical performance and accounting, optimization and production compliance with regulatory requirements and company health, safety, environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a personal commitment to working safely as an advocate and leader for safe work culture for all employees
• Assume the leadership role for operational strategy, staffing, training and activities related to the operation of a process facility
• Conduct regular inspections of all process areas to ensure compliance with legislation in safety and environmental standards
• Create a high performance culture within an organization that embraces innovation and problem solving
• Consistently monitor and achieve process optimization
• Monitor and improve reporting systems to support process plant equipment optimization strategies
• Define and implement the most cost-effective assay lab
• Work closely with other departments to ensure they aware of planned Process Plant strategic priorities
• Implement and continually review metallurgical production balances and metal accounting practices
• Define and maintain a reliable process area cost model and budget
• Create a work environment that allows employees and contractors to achieve their full potential through mentoring and effective training
• Assist with the implementation of a performance management process to support optimal employee performance and to correct substandard performance.
• Support succession planning within the team to ensure progressive training, development and advancement of employee
• Proactive in operational safety, effective utilization of resources, continuous improvement concepts and projects, and to encourage teamwork.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineer or related field required
• Minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience in a senior management role with exposure in process operations.
• Detailed knowledge of all phases of gold processing
• Proven business improvement experience and able to lead strategic planning initiatives
• A passion for innovative concepts that can transform the business
• General knowledge of health, safety, mining and accounting functions
• Strong leadership and coaching skillset
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and communication skillset with an ability to interact at all levels within the organisation.

• The salary range is tied to the market for jobs performed in Nevada. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
