Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to be based at our national headquarters in Princeton, NJ. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for working directly with approved vendors to purchase various items or services based on business requirements and as document on approved purchase orders.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with vendors as the face of the Company to purchase items/services and ensure that vendors are accountable relative to on time delivery, quality, quantity, and price.
  • Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in the correct amounts.
  • Track order acknowledgements.
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Advise internal customer of changes in delivery dates or of possible product alternatives.
  • Enter orders into purchasing systems and issue copies of purchase orders.
  • Maintain orders, pricing, etc. in the purchasing system and set up new items and suppliers.
  • Project costs for upcoming year and participate in cost savings initiatives.
  • Support the accounts payable team in resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist with the development, identification, and execution of procurement best practices through benchmarking and end-to-end process improvements.
  • Continually look for ways to save the company money through our vendor relationships and procurement processes.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Strong analytic and reasoning ability.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company and vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or other ERP procurement systems.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
