Job Summary:


The Procurement Specialist II in WCER serves as a point of contact to service procurement requests connecting needs across suppliers, stakeholders and institutional leadership. This position maintains contracts and negotiates purchase prices to achieve business results. This position will also troubleshoot complex solicitations requiring creative approaches to evaluate third party sourcing options in compliance and with regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

Researches, creates, and solicits bids and proposals from third party suppliers for critical, complex, and/or unique institution level procurements to provide cost-effective materials and services within an assigned commodity area or business unit. Negotiates contract terms and signs resulting contracts on behalf of the institution. Provides peer guidance and proposes procurement strategies to senior leadership to support operational excellence of procurement functions.
  • 10% Leads the development of complex solicitations requiring creative approaches to evaluation of third party sourcing options in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • 10% Leads and executes the research of suppliers to understand available products and services, assesses market conditions, identifies supply options, and makes recommendations
  • 30% Drafts, submits, and communicates outcomes of procurement requests to suppliers, stakeholders, and institutional leadership
  • 10% Answers questions and provides guidance regarding specific commodities and service areas to various individuals and groups based on set material or standards
  • 5% Prepares and disseminates business cases to appropriate audiences, proposes strategic sourcing, and authors programs to stakeholders and institutional leadership
  • 5% Implements required reporting protocols with suppliers to allow measurement of cost savings, reduction, avoidance, supplier management, and risk mitigation programs and strategies
  • 15% Serves as primary point of contact for external stakeholders, maintains contracts, and negotiates purchase prices to obtain timely and meaningful contract sourcing results
  • 5% Establishes and maintains bid and proposal records to comply with record-keeping requirements
  • 10% Cross-trains on other financial related tasks and provides back up as needed.

Salary:


Minimum $63,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

The starting salary for the position is $63,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and paid time off; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits.
