Role Profile

The Product Specialist (Content) is part of the Investment Team in Ireland and will work closely with Portfolio Managers to ensure transfer of investment knowledge to the sales networks in Europe.

The role is to develop and deliver a wide range of written content in coordination with Investments, Marketing and Client Experience teams to support our distributors in Europe. The aim is to craft clear messages in plain language about the factors driving market or fund performance, fund positioning decisions and key changes during fund lifecycle. It also includes building compelling content which clearly articulates our differentiated business model and our funds’ proposition.

The role will suit an enthusiastic and energetic individual with previous experience working for an asset manager in a cross-border environment. Pre-requisites for the role include a knowledge of investment fund solutions, how they are managed and promoted.

Duties

  • Write investment content, fund-specific or thematic, based on market environment or tactical commercial push across a variety of formats: short email, presentation, sales aid, Q&A, video script or review paper.

  • Write, edit or proofread request for information (RFI) in response to client requests on our investment products.

  • Take co-ownership of MedRadar, a quarterly retail publication.

  • Fund launches - help craft and deliver clear messages of funds at launch, working closely with the Product Development team.

  • Work both independently and liaise confidently with subject matter experts across the business to gather and interpret funds data.

  • Leverage investment writing capabilities of outsourcing partners to add flexibility and scalability when required.

  • Four eyes check – ensure proper and consistent messaging by proofing, commenting, or rewriting sections of documents produced by other team members as required.

  • Liaise with Marketing to maximise reach and impact of new content


  • Quarterly Fund commentaries:
  • Market review – proofread or write short market review sections (150 words) for the quarterly commentaries.

  • Proofread and sign off content - once accustomed with our writing style and fund range, sign off assigned fund commentaries written by portfolio managers.

  • Assist head of team in developing processes and implementing initiatives to achieve consistent high standards for the Quarterly Commentaries. Initiatives can include considering outsourcing options for part of the process. Coach new PS members and portfolio managers to achieve best-in-class deliverables.

  • MIL – unit linked funds – review, edit and sign off quarterly commentaries for distribution in Spain – in conjunction with Multi-manager PMs and in tandem with Spanish PS team.

  • Contribute and help develop short retail pitch books for assigned Tier 1 funds in the MIFL range

  • Skills & Competencies

  • Relevant investment experience in a cross-border asset manager, ideally in Europe with retail/wholesale focus. Likely to include prior experience as investment writer, RFP writer or content manager.

  • Excellent and demonstrable skills in writing and editing, with the ability to articulate often complex and technical information into simple messages.

  • Storyteller - demonstrate ability and/or interest to build an investment story and deliver engaging and impactful content, adjusting technical knowledge according to the audience.

  • Analytical skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Flexible, independent, self-starter with the ability to multitask, influence and deliver results in the face of competing demands and according to strict time constraints.

  • Team player, skilled at developing collegiate working relationships with various stakeholders.

  • Should be totally autonomous and proficient in using basic MS Office products to build and deliver content.

  • Interest in investment concepts and understanding of key asset classes.

  • Effective project management skills

  • Italian, Spanish or German writing capabilities are desirable but not mandatory.
