As a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of DC motors for the automotive industry, we are seeking team players to join our company with four locations. We are a small motor business unit for a global Fortune 500 company and an advanced mobility supplier and manufacturer of automotive components. We develop technology and components for nearly every make and model car on the road today.



Job Summary:

To supply the correct assembly parts to the assembly line in a timely manner while maintaining product identification, lot traceability, and good housekeeping around assigned areas in compliance with the quality policy.

Weekly day range:

Major Responsibilities:

Review Supplier Ship Schedules for component and raw material purchases to ensure no shortages or disruptions in production.

Review and approve customer orders for input into our system.

Problem Solving Customer special requests, Expediting or De-Expediting, Quality related issues, etc.

Review and monitor production schedules for most accurate results with consideration of capacity levels.

Enter orders, prepare and support in creation of shipping documents.

Inventory control and inventory adjustments to support 100 accuracy of our total inventory. This will require cycle counting support.

Review and maintain production schedules based on most current information from our customers.

Review and monitor finish good ship schedules for accuracy

Maintain component and finish good inventory targets based on our company objectives.

Preparation and support to the Production, Sales and Inventory Meeting (PSI Meeting)

Review monthly supplier ratings and request countermeasures to delivery related problems.

Design Review Meeting is to introduce and make known all changes in motor designs, engineering changes, etc.

Review of slow moving and/or obsolete inventory, and advise on appropriate actions.

Physical inventory and reconciliation of physical inventory

Preparation and support to the Long Term Production Plan.

Assist in corrective actions and countermeasures from customers or suppliers.

Requests for airfreight of components from overseas when necessary.

Participation in cross-functional teams or committees to improve our companys position.

Support and train in system related areas for best production control results.

Mistake proofing techniques, failsafe methods and procedures or work instructions.

Support with planning, developing and implementing continuous improvement programs that affect safety, productivity, scrap, inventory, and costs.

Design control Monitoring and follow-up with phase-in and phase-outs. Introduce new motors and implementation of schedules. Coordinating the required components, trials and customer specific requirements.

Maintain and control the Bill of Materials

Prepare timely and accurate reports in supporting management decisions

Minor Responsibilities:

Requires teamwork and participation of company activities and Employee Involvement.

Requires effective communication and involvement with all levels of the organization and related outside resources.

Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Maintain 5s standards: maintaining good housing keeping.

Ability to work and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Requires review and followup of company and departmental goals & objectives.

Follow all policies, procedures and work instructions and make recommendations to improve the process through continual improvement.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

Requires High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Must fulfill NC state or federal educational requirements).

Prefer 2 or 4 year degree in related field; or equivalent experience in related field.

Prefer 5 years of production control experience in a manufacturing environment

Prefers APICS certification

Key Competencies:

Must have a knowledge of production control processes and procedures

Must have knowledge of all warehouse functions

Preferred knowledge of Kanban Systems

Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and MRP related system. (Strong Personal Computer Skills)

Must be able to read and understand blueprints

Requires the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.

Must have investigative and analytical skills in order to evaluate and make recommendations for improvements.

Physical Requirements:

Requires sitting, standing and moving throughout the day.
