Job Title: Production Manager

Department: Production

Reports To: General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Scope: The Production Manager is responsible for leading the production line activities, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety performance requirements are achieved.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Oversees all the production line activities, providing leadership to all planting & laydown crews
• Mange and oversee line of reports
• Responsible for training, hiring, disciplining, and motivating the crew, working through and with the planting line leads
• Establish productivity rates against a standard
• Develop and instill the best media handling process for yield and quality. Develop process checks.
• Ensure proper planting techniques and quality planting is completed, including proper planting depth, plants per pot, and plant location within the pot.
• Look for ways to implement leaner processes and increase productivity or efficiency of workflow
• Ensure the use of the proper materials in the production process such as pots, labels, tags and soil, including the use of recycled material (soil, pots) when possible
• Ensure planting data is gathered accurately, turned in timely and entered
• Ensure planting labels are applied to each crop and filled out correctly
• Oversees soil mixing area, including inventory, and ordering of soil components, proper mixing techniques and procedures are followed, and productivity and organization of the area is maintained.
• Ensure planting machinery is kept clean and proper guarding is in place.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the planting area
• Create a safety-first culture and ensure proper safety practices are always followed
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• A four-year degree in related field preferred.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing management role, or greenhouse environment

Requirements:

• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Strong sense of Teamwork
• Excellent communicator with wide variety of people
• Knowledge of products
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Computer literate: Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
• Mathematical skills
• Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable with fulfilling obligations.
• Open to change and to considerable variety in the workplace.
