What you’ll do:

• Implement, train and enforce company and plant safety programs
• Coach employees competent in skills to perform to the greatest level of their ability and motivate employees to continue to develop skills to next level in succession. Identify employees logical for turnover succession and prepare them with training when opportunities arise
• Analyze performance and capabilities of all employees supervised. Define employee performance, give feedback as required. Discuss performance problems with subordinates as needed and take appropriate disciplinary action as required
• Implement schedule of mandatory training requirements or regulations and implement
• Analyze mechanical problems in the production process and correct to devise modifications to machines to meet quality standards and schedules. Implement maintenance schedules and assign the workforce to adhere to maintenance plans with minimum interruption to operations
• Obtain clear instructions of daily production plans and ensure schedule is properly communicated to all shift employees. Visit all production areas to ensure customer material specifications are being met, properly labeled and packaged for delivery on time
• Organize shift activity in a manner required by the Plant Controller for reporting production, spoilage, material usage etc...
• Maintain plant in neat and orderly condition, free of recognized hazards
• Help develop and maintain department operating budget; review plant cost reports and performances against operating budget, taking corrective action to attain budget objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field
• Management experience in various area of shipping, warehousing, product production and quality control
