The D3 Equity Champion will work with district leadership, staff, and key stakeholders to develop, implement and achieve the D3 Equity and Inclusion goals. The incumbent will serve in a leading role to implement diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in order to build a more inclusive culture, promote and retain a diverse workforce, and support an increasingly diverse community. The incumbent will have responsibility to promote the awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion, both internally and externally, and will chair our Equity and Inclusion Committee while also providing support our Employee Resource groups.

What you need to qualify
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills;

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Your duties at a glance
Provide coordination and liaison services between multiple partners and department staff within the local branch and/or district. The Community Partnership Coordinator (CPC) represents the agency and it’s various and diverse programs in a variety of community settings serving diverse populations. The CPC is responsible for developing and maintaining effective and positive working relationships with program service providers, social service providers, community and faith-based organizations and agency staff.

Coordination and Liaison
Provides community outreach and resource development to support our customers as they seek economic stability. This involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a variety of community partners, providers and advocacy/stakeholder groups.
Collaborates with Family Coaches and Engagement Specialists to clearly understand the unmet needs of families; analyze and evaluate service need trends; and locate services needed to support families.
Contract Negotiation
May negotiate, write, monitor or administer contracts on behalf of the Branch Operations manager or Program Manager. This may include grant writing where applicable
Professional development
Continually seeks to develop and improve effectiveness by enhancing communication skills in the areas of giving and receiving constructive feedback, negotiating solutions, personal effectiveness, conflict resolution and team effectiveness.
Working conditions
Regular contract with DHS staff, partners, providers, stakeholders and customers in person and over the telephone. Time spent outside the office will be significant as the employee participates in community meeting and planning session, seeking resources for customers and providing presentations on DHS programs/services. This may also include customer’s homes and other public sites such as schools, businesses, other agencies and partner sites.
The employee may be exposed to and need to deal with a range of emotionally charged issues/situations. This may require conflict resolution skills and facilitation skills.
