Job Summary
The Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator to assist with the day-to-day and specialized operations of a diverse and expansive unit. This position is essential to the smooth administrative functions of the department and in assisting to advance the Biggio Center’s mission. This position is essential to the administrative functions of the center and serves as the liaison both internally (between units and administrative functions) and externally (with other departments/colleges, faculty and administrative staff in other units) to ensure continued program success.

Essential Functions
  • Plans and develops the execution of programs, projects, and initiatives in coordination with unit facilitators. Recommends and implements improved methods and procedures with a focus on enhancing the reputation and scope of offerings of the Biggio Center. Programs include teaching feedback services, space reservation system, ACLC lounge area, and others.


  • Coordinates, plans and organizes event logistics for special functions which to New Faculty Orientation, Faculty Resource Fair, Course (Re)Design, facilitated workshops, and additional events throughout the year. Coordinates internally and externally to ensure that event needs are communicated, coordinated, and executed seamlessly.

  • Maintains relationships and promotes interaction with internal and external stakeholders by identifying opportunities and developing new partnerships to elevate the Biggio Center. This includes (but isn’t limited to) presentations, on campus outreach, and maintenance of the primary communication pathways of the center.

  • Assists with the planning and execution of marketing for programs and events to include press releases, creating and disseminating internal and external communications, development of promotional items, maintaining the unit website and coordinating digital signage.

  • Creates and maintains varied records of contacts for communications regarding classroom scheduling, event recruitment, and general promotion of programs.

  • Provides high level administrative support and assists with other tasks as assigned to include (but not limited to) general office management, general financial and human resources duties, and supervising student workers.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.

Experience:
3 years of experience in administration, hospitality, and/or event coordination.

Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications

Minimum Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Experience working with diverse populations. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience coordinating programs or projects in and office environment.

Minimum Technology Skills
General proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office, databases, project management programs) and office equipment (printers).
