General Statement
The Program Coordinator will provide oversight of a specialized program called Brothers and Keepers. The Brothers and Keepers program is a multi-dimensional recruitment and support program designed to expand and serve Quinsigamond Community College male and trans male students of color who are seeking certificates, degrees, transfer or workforce training. The goal of the program is to increase the enrollment of men of color and to support their persistence through their academic goals and graduation. Nationally, we have seen a dramatic drop in men of color attending and completing college. This program will increase community outreach and collaborate to provide campus wrap-around support services that will support men of color with their academic journeys and improve their ability to persist to graduation. Services may include personal, emotional, financial training and development; social and academic educational programming.
Serving as one of the SUCCESS Scholar team members, the Program Coordinator will work to connect men of color to the SUCCESS web of support as well as serve as a resource to SUCCESS Scholars. The Program Coordinator will work with local agencies, high schools and all departments on campus to provide advocacy and support for these recruited and self-identified males of color who will build connections through group trainings and individual goal setting. This program will attempt to align and build off the national model established by former President Barack Obama, titled My Brothers' Keeper.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the SUCCESS Scholars team and QCC faculty and staff to ensure that at-promise males of color access and fully benefit from QCC's appreciative advising approach.
- Work collaboratively with the QCC Director of Mentoring to assist at-promise males of color in connecting with mentors and to build positive relationships to support their college experience, gain an understanding of workplace expectations and networking to increase their likelihood of finding a rewarding career.
- Build and orchestrate a robust community outreach program to recruit men of color to Quinsigamond Community College.
- Working collaboratively with the Executive Director of DEI to promote and provide resources of Diversity, Equity and inclusion & Justice to trans male and male of color.
- Organize joint trainings and meetings for the peer support programs
- Develop intentional programming opportunities and learning modules for all participants.
- Work in collaboration with the other departments to support the at-promise men of color.
- Collect, analyze and report data associated with the persistence and retention of all men of color participating in Brothers & Keepers.
- Participate in regular departmental and college meetings, including SUCCESS team meetings.
- Collaborate with other academic and student support services across campus and with Institutional Research on refining/enhancing program strategies and practices based upon this data.
- Assist with city-wide and campus-wide education and communication communities to serve as thought partners around building opportunities for the men to succeed
- Assist in understanding Quinsigamond Community College multiple paths to success and enrollment processes to remain viably enrolled through wrap around services.
- Develop reports and evaluative tools to assess the effectiveness of the program.
- Actively support the teaching and learning process; practicing honesty and integrity in and out of the classroom; strive to create and support a student-centered environment while fostering academic innovation and excellence.
- Work actively with other areas of the college to ensure a spirit of college wide collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork. Respect the function of dissent in an academic institution while advancing a collegial atmosphere of campus collaboration.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience working with, motivating and providing programming for young men of color.
- Availability to work evening and weekend activities as schedule may require.
- Ability to minimally travel to and from programming activities across multiple campus locations
- Awareness of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Multicultural/Intersectional lived experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or comparable computer software.
- Understanding of the diverse nature of college student population.
- Experience in providing academic advising and/or experience with career development and planning.
- Experience working with Worcester-based community organizations and/or knowledge of the Central Massachusetts Community.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of how to successfully program remotely.
- Bilingual or multicultural, Spanish or other foreign languages preferred.
- Demonstrate a commitment to discussion, integrating, and promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice.
