Summary

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines within budget. This includes coordinating the team efforts to deliver the projects according to the plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives & ensure that the desired results are continuously met throughout the product’s life cycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans and implements, including defining the project outputs, activities, milestones, per customer requirements.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Assign and oversee project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as tooling/fixture plans, programming, preparation of specifications & manufacturing plans, cell development and product testing as required.
  • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
  • Identify and resolve issues & conflicts within the project team.
  • Interfaces with customers to resolve issues related to manufacture & design to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Interfaces with vendors to develop specifications for purchased product.
  • Ensures successful transition from development to production including purchasing activities.
  • Conduct project post mortems to ensure the desired results have been achieved.
  • Identify potential constraints & devise contingency plans to ensure project success.

Education and/or Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry or;
  • Bachelor’s degree with technical discipline from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Must have experience in Lean Manufacturing and or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T Knowledge
  • Strong familiarity with project management software
  • Database & operating system experience
  • Technically competent with various software programs (Solidworks/ProE/etc…
  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize & execute tasks under pressure
  • Persuasive, encouraging & motivating

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
